Learn the World's Most Powerful Way to Communicate

Touch hearts and impact lives

To learn music is to learn the world's most powerful language (one that speaks directly to hearts). It greatly impacts people yet many lack the skill. The journey into the most powerful mover of emotions is at your fingertips... and just a decision away.

It's used in movies and commercials to invoke the deepest feelings in the viewer. Because it's so powerful it's also a healer.

There are healing frequencies in music that when tuned to them they offer healing. Whether listening to healing frequencies or not music still offers itself as a tool to overcome life's challenges.

It has enhanced the lives of many throughout the years. It makes dull and challenging times more bearable.

People often turn to drugs and alcohol to escape negative emotions when instead could be using the power of music. Substance use destroys your health which leads to even more pain (physically and mentally).

It's difficult to turn away from those vices because they do offer freedom from yourself for a short bit. But then you're faced with a hang over or sense of energy depletion.

Your body is off balance and your mind follows suit. It's a constant battle through obscurity.

Alcohol and drug abuse amplify the very issues that are being escaped. It increases inner tightness, frustration, confusion, shame and guilt.

Alcohol in moderation is ok, especially wine because it doesn't give you beer belly. Nothing wrong with natural substance use in moderation like cannabis and psylocibin.

It's the synthetics that are most addictive and harmful to health. Regardless life is most optimal in sobriety.

Substance causes you to go below thinking (as an escape) whereas sobriety offers the opportunity to rise above thinking.

Why not have a dose of healthy medicine instead?

Music fosters inner peace

Music is a tool that can be used without the ill side effects that accompany substance use.

I have a toddler and sometimes when she cries or has a tantrum I feel tension inside. So I throw on some headphones and listen to one of my fave tunes while I address her needs.

I've always had that relationship with music where it feels like time slows down. It smooths me out and brings me into total union with the present moment.

First of all it blocks out the crying and alleviates the tension immediately. I find the peace to respond from a calm place to rock her to sleep or hold her in my arms.

Children can be intense when they're emotional. The energy fills the room and is otherwise inescapable.

Music allows me to surrender to the moment and to be there for my emotional child.

There are also times when my 4 kids are running around the house shouting and chasing each other.

As a single parent I recognise that they're simply having fun and I honour it. At times I'm unperturbed by the noise of play but other times I throw on my headphones for relief from the noise.

This allows the flow of life to keep rollin' on in harmony. I let the kids expend their energy while I rock out. Everybody wins.

An outlet for emotions

Aside from listening to music as a tool there are other uses. Playing music is an outlet for emotions (whether positive or negative).

It's a pathway to express deep expressions from the soul. Many great songs produced by artists are fuelled by the most challenging situations: break ups, death of a loved one, financial loss etc.

Without music those times in life of deep suffering often lead to substance to numb out. If not with substance it's just very difficult to deal and accept.

Although grieving is a natural process and should be honoured, it is often difficult to let go of the trauma. So when those memories get triggered it re-opens the wound.

You feel alone with traumatic memories and carry them with you instead of letting them out. How do you let them out?

There are many ways but something that has been a valid outlet for me is playing music. This includes playing cover songs as well as writing my own songs.

When you relate deeply to a song and can express it yourself musically there is healthy therapy at work. It's an outlet to liberate pent up negative emotions.

A channel for creativity

Creating music is the most powerful outlet for love and life crisis. It's a way of channelling life's challenges into beautiful art.

Those experiences fuel art. Art is made of expression from the depths of your unique life experience.

Music is also a channel for inspiration into love. Women have been the main inspiration for me into composing music.

I started playing guitar in high school and as an introvert I saw it as my only way to get a girlfriend. It worked.

In fact my hottest girlfriends were attracted through witnessing me musically. I proved it to be a winning formula; however, it's not all about finding love.

Every valuable aspect of life is based on resonance (sound vibration). Sound is vibration which is the way of the universe.

That said, music is the most profound universal language. It changes and moves people from suffering to healing.

This is my ultimate goal is to use music to heal and teach others to do the same. It doesn't matter if you don't feel musically inclined. Anyone can learn the skill.

When I began music it was a frustrating journey because I was not great at it. Anything worth while takes time.

With time and consistency you will be great if you choose to be. All potentials are reachable in music.

Whether you want to jam around the campfire, play for personal therapy or be a musical artist, it's attainable. Everyone has a voice and everyone is capable of strumming a guitar well.

Often there's mental blocks around it though. People from the past may have conditioned you to believe you're not cut out for music.

Movies and media also condition you to diminish your confidence in music. The truth is that you can become great at anything with consistency. Consistency is the one true path to success.

How to Awaken your Musical Side:

Learn Singing:

As a beginner you could start with singing to your favourite tunes in the car. Singing is about opening up. Aim to sing loudly and without shame.

The more you practise to your favourite songs the more you will find yourself matching the notes of the artist. There's also piano keyboard apps on phones that you can use to practise key finding.

When you play the piano key and vocalize with it it helps you learn musical keys. Matching vocal sounds to musical instruments are the training wheels.

With practise you'll find the keys easily. Humming helps. After some time you'll carry a tune vocally without additional support.

When it comes to learning guitar there's no better instrument to start learning on than an acoustic guitar. Once you learn the acoustic you can play electric in your sleep.

The strings on an electric guitar are much thinner which makes it effortless after you've learned the acoustic guitar. The beauty of developing musical talent is that you can use it for life into old age.

It doesn't require heavy lifting to get results so it's a lasting skill. I've been playing music for about 30 years and to this day playing songs is like an enjoyable ride.

It's a journey into feelings and it also gives way to release negative emotions. Listening to songs can really hit home sometimes and playing the songs is even more powerful.

When you express as an artist expresses you've arrived at a special place... a therapeutic vortex. Learning music is a pathway to emotional freedom.

Learn Guitar

Guitar can be learned by looking at chord charts online to show finger positions for each chord. You can search up songs that you like with the chords alongside the lyrics.

For example if you search up "XYZ song name chords" it will give the chord finger positions at the top of the page to show which fingers to put where.

You'll typically find the chord positions at the top of the page. It shows you where the fingers go. The strumming rhythm can be learned as you listen to the song alongside your playing.

Stay patient with yourself. In the beginning coordination to this new skill takes some time.

It will start to come together naturally over time. You don't even have to think about how, it just happens in a subtle way.

Combine singing and guitar playing

Singing and playing guitar at the same time is the next level. You first must develop singing and guitar playing independently.

The way I learned is to first start with simple strumming songs where you're familiar with the chords well enough. It's a matter of just diving in and trying it together.

Consistency always delivers results. Once you're accustomed to playing guitar and singing you're now able to take it to the next level.

Compose your own songs

Without art, the crudeness of reality would make the world unbearable.

George Bernard Shaw

Art makes the world beautiful and literally keeps people alive. It gives hope and offers healing.

So what greater pursuit than to create your own art for this world. Art is timeless when it comes from the heart.

There's tremendous benefit to music which is that it has the power to change your inner and outer world. It's a channel for emotions and a healing potion for others that resonate with your sound.

Embrace music as a language and harness the full power of your being. The full expression from your soul is unlockable whether playing cover songs or writing your own songs. There's a power in music beyond words.

Find What Suits You Most

There are a plethora of instruments to experiment with to find what suits you.

Over the years I learned many instruments including piano, drums, saxophone, clarinet, guitar and singing. It's definite that each instrument I learned help facilitate the learning of the next one.

So even if you give up an instrument at some point it compounds into value when you pick up a new one.

Each musical instrument offers an outlet to liberate emotions and authentic expression. Let it out into art!

May your heart emanate the music you were meant to express in this world and reach the hearts you love. Empower yourself by awakening your dormant ability.

If you're interested in learning guitar or singing I provide lessons remotely and patiently to get you started.
